John Ashworth was born in Lancashire and was educated in Rochdale, Formby, Stonyhurst and Cambridge University.

He has lived and worked in Nigeria, Malawi, Kenya, the UK and Argentina.

He paints, writes poetry, fiction and children’s stories.
